GENERAL INFORMATION
BP-500A-D5 is a high-viscosity organic bentonite with organic ammonium salt modified montmorillonite. It has good dispersibility, suspension and gel properties in oil-based mud. Generally used as viscosifier, fluid loss reducer,etc.
ADVANTAGES
☆ Form a gel structure in the base oil to adjust the viscosity of the drilling fluid;
☆ Increase wellbore purification capacity and improve sand carrying capacity;
☆ Improve the quality of the mud cake and reduce the water loss of the mud;
☆ Increase the suspendability of oil-based drilling fluid and suspend weighted materials.
INCORPORATIONS AND RECOMMENDED LEVELS
Add 25-40kg/m3 of BP-500A-D5 to make water in oil drilling fluids, or adjust the quantity based on real situation.
Normally the consumption of BP-500A-D5 in mineral oil-based, synthetic oil-based and modified vegetable oil- based drilling fluids will be higher than diesel-based drilling fluids.
When making the oil based drilling fluids, adding a small stream of water（0.1-0.5%）will be much helpful to get ideal effect.
BP-500A-D5 needs enough shearing to be well dispersed, to get the required viscosity.

SHELF LIFE
