GENERAL INFORMATION
BP-500A-A21 is an organoclay for oil-based drilling mud (fluid).
ADVANTAGES
☆ Imparts good dispersion, high gel strength, and stable viscosity properties of oil-based drilling fluids.
☆ Used to gel oil drilling fluids for long-term suspension of weighting agents in drilling and packer fluids.
☆ Aids in hole cleaning, and improves carrying lithology property.
☆ Stable at both high and low temperatures.
☆ Usually preferred in diesel-based, mineral oil-based, synthetic oil-based and modified vegetable oil-based drilling fluids.
INCORPORATIONS AND RECOMMENDED LEVELS
Add 25-40kg/m3 of BP-500A-A21 to make water in oil drilling fluids, or adjust the quantity based on real situation.
Normally the consumption of BP-500A-A21 in mineral oil-based, synthetic oil-based and modified vegetable oil- based drilling fluids will be higher than diesel-based drilling fluids.
When making the oil based drilling fluids, adding a small stream of water（0.1-0.5%）will be much helpful to get ideal effect.
BP-500A-A21 needs enough shearing to be well dispersed, to get the required viscosity.
